Waxing
It is important to us that you feel comfortable during the waxing process. To ensure this, we have carefully selected the following types of waxes for you to choose from, depending on your preference.
Gold wax: made with a titanium-dioxide base, which is good for sensitive skin. Because of its gold powder content, it adapts to your body’s temperature, so it can be used to wax larger areas on your body in one go.
Hypoallergenic: made for hyper-sensitive skin. Because of its excellent grip, it allows for the removal of hair in an effective and gentle way, removing the toughest pieces with ease. This wax is fragrance-, colour- and rosin-free.
Skintim sugar wax: we guarantee you will love this option! This wax is preferred when working with more sensitive areas, such as underarm or intimate areas. With the recommendation of thousands of our guests.
Wax application methods:
Sugar paste: a soft paste that is used to wax sensitive and soft areas of skin, due to its gentleness. The wax is applied in the opposite direction of hair growth and removed in the direction of the hair growth. This method is the most effective when it comes to removing shorter or tougher hairs. We remove the paste from the skin using paper waxing strips.
Cartridge roll-on: used for bigger areas of skin (leg, arm, stomach, bottom), the wax is applied with the roller and then removed with a waxing strip. It is most ideal to get waxed when your hair is between 0.5-1 cm in length (this can be different from one person to the other and can depend on the previous hair removal method as well).
We do not recommend for women to get waxed during their periods, as this is when pain tolerance levels are at their lowest. Its best if hair removal happens before or after your menstrual cycle is over.
Types of intimate waxing:
Bikini wax: waxing the areas falling outside of your panty line.
Brazilian wax: a small portion of the hair is left intact, in the shape of a line (landing strip) or a triangle.
Hollywood wax: complete intimate wax (back and front), one of our most popular intimate waxing options.
Aftercare (at home): it is important to avoid the infection of the waxed area(s). You should avoid sunbathing, tanning (tanning bed or solarium), going to a sauna, steam rooms, swimming pools or jacuzzies for at least 24 hours after a waxing session. If it is absolutely unavoidable for you to go to one of the mentioned places, then make sure to apply a generous amount of repairing cream to the waxed area of your skin. It is recommended to exfoliate your skin once or twice a week to avoid inflamed hair follicles and potentially ingrown hairs.
Who should avoid intimate waxing?
It is not recommended for those with gynaecological issues, infectious diseases and viral illnesses and infections, people with herpes, eczema, psoriasis or for people with diabetes.
